The very first baseball game that ever I watched was Game One of the 1988 World Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Oakland Athletics. I should not need to describe the indelible mark that the outcome of this particular game left on my impressionable mind as a child. I grew to become a die-hard Dodger fan, and one of the few childhood memories that I have with my father consisted of attending weekend Dodger games with him. My father worked tirelessly, and when I did see him, it was only for a few minutes late at night or early in the morning. Attending Dodger games together was one of the only good things that we had going in our father-son relationship. This simple purity is something that you clearly do not understand about the Los Angeles Dodgers franchise. I suffered through some losing seasons as a young Dodger fan, but it was okay because the team still played with heart, and still possessed a soul. When the O'Malley family sold the Dodgers, I feared the worst, but had hope that the team would carry on as it always had. The Rupert Murdoch ownership debacle temporarily hurt the franchise, but what you have done to the Dodgers is nothing short of attempted murder. You have pillaged the assets of goodwill and of a winning tradition from the Dodgers organization for the sake of living lavishly in the hills of Malibu. You have dashed the enjoyment of Dodger fans who attend games in the hallowed grounds of Dodger Stadium with your empty promises and price gouging. You have forsaken the well-being of baseball fans with your shameless penny-pinching when it comes to ensuring the safety of those who come to watch games played at Dodger Stadium. I was lucky enough to have married a woman who is as every bit a loyal Dodger fan as I am. She still begs to go to Dodger games, but I just can't stomach the thought of supporting your ownership abomination with my hard-earned money. I am not alone in this strong sentiment; as you know, attendance is way down at Dodger Stadium this season. The Dodger fans have spoken, and have shown that they will not tolerate you any longer. I still love and support the Dodgers, but I do not support you. In fact, I cannot stand you and your greedy ex-wife, and I hope that someday soon, you will just be a painful memory in the annals of Dodger history. I long for the day when you will do the right thing, and end your charade as a committed owner, and let the Dodger faithful have their team back. Sincerely, A Dodger Fan |

Have you ever driven a certified NASCAR?
I have. It is definitely a sport and you use every bit of physical strength and endurance. You also have to plan and focus. You also need team work in order to drive, compete move up or win. Please tell me how it is not a sport. ![]()
