Default What is this world coming too!

Hey Dudes and Dudettes well I have today off so I decided to take a walk around the neighborhood. I was about 1/2 mile away from my apartment when I smelled some good cooking, across the street was the L.A. fire department having some kind of catered lunch in the parking lot of a medical building. So I kept walking down the street, about 100 feet away lying on the ground was a homeless man. Now if that food smell was making me hungry imagine what he was going thru, he is probably lucky to get one meal a day. I kept walking to the corner where there was a supermarket and bought a cooked fried chicken meal and a big bottle of Gatorade. On my way back he was still lying there and the firemen were still stuffing their faces across the street. I woke him up and gave him the chicken dinner and Gatorade. He thanked me over and over than tore into the meal like it was his last. Now you would think that maybe ONE of the firemen would have seen him there and brought him some food, but NO! It was about 30 mins. that I had passed by him and no one from the fire department even went over to see if he was alive. Things like this REALLY **** ME OFF! When can we all realize that we must help one another out, especially the L.A. fire department. So the next time you see someone down and out THINK what if was me.

Thanks for taking the effort to see everyone that we live in this city with. Many are blind to the less fortunate.

It just saddens me every time I Go to LA and see al those homeless and no one cares...sure a church organization does something once a year, but what about the other days for the rest of the year...its just so heartbreaking! Riverside had soemthing going for a bit with Tent City I hadnt read anything on it in while dont know if thats still going strong, but it was an amazing idea!!!!

Great job Chaz!

The number of poor and homeless people in this country is sickening. And when I say that, I mean it's sickening that the world's richest country cannot take care of ALL its citizens.

Here in Tampa there is a practically a war on the homeless. All sorts of laws are being passed that make their lives even more difficult (as if being homeless isn't bad enough).

Seems like the disease of heartless motherf'erism is growing and growing in America.

Have a little compassion like Chaz!

Nice job Chaz.

I truly believe that everything happens for a reason whether we know what that reason is or not. I was actually thinking about this thread while I was mowing my lawn this afternoon and wrote a long, witty response in my head a few times, but the bottom line is that Chaz did very admirable thing and should be complimented for exactly that.

Once again, nicely done Chaz.
