I have owned several vehicles in my life; 51' Chevy truck 57' Chevy Bel Air 74' Toyota Corona 87' Jeep Comanche 04' MINI Cooper S 71' Austin Mini 06' Mitsubishi Raider 90' CRX 78' Civic 85' Toyota Corolla 02' Honda Civic 71' Ford F-250 Out of all those, the only one that has NOT left me on the side of the road is the Raider and it's made by Dodge! My ratio pretty much sucks. As I dropped the CRX off at the dealer last night I did notice my dealer had 7 new CR-Z's. It looks like I wont be able to wait until next years model before getting a CR-Z Like I wanted. Then I thought, do I get rid of the one car in my life that has not let me down for a car that is made by a manufacturer who's three cars I have owned has left me on the side of the road? Then I thought... Of coarse I will! Why break a tradition .Please feel free to comment or share your pondering thoughts |

I wish we could get the orange. It was one of the colors I was hoping for in next years model. The Storm Silver and the White are neck and neck with a little more lean towards white, but with the water vapor coming out of the cooling towers at work and leaving orange spots on the white cars (effects no other colors- strange) I will go with the silver.

Yep, Silver...
Sounds like it is time to put old yeller to rest... Sorry, when I was "pondering" the thread, the old yeller story came to mind. Maybe not the best analogy, but sometimes we have to put the best friend to rest or in this case, maybe in the garage pending a makeover or revival in the future. |

As far as the CRX, in this go around, last Sunday when I was heading home from work the fuel pump gave out. I had it towed home and on Monday I dropped the tank and changed it out. Went for a test run around town and all of a sudden it started backfiring and died. Towed home again and pulled off the distributor cap and the screw that holds the rotor fell out on the ground and the rotor and cap was beat to hell. It was late so I made a mad dash to Kragen auto parts to get a new cap and rotor. I could tell it was cheap, low grade parts but figured it would get me through to the weekend when I could get good parts. Well, when I went to tighten the cap it cracked. So I left the cheap rotor on and put the old cap back on and it started fine. Yesterday morning I headed out for work and once the engine got warm and I got to my first stop the engine died. I had to turn the ignition completely off and back on to start the car. It did this all the way to work. I called the closest auto parts store to my work, which was NAPA and that was 10 miles away, and asked if they had the cap and rotor and they did. S after work I headed out to get them and half way there it up and died totally. One of my coworkers saw me broke down and took me to NAPA and back, and I changed out the cap and rotor- still didn't start. So I called Triple A and had my 1 1/2 hour pondering moment and had it towed to my Honda dealer. They tried it this morning and it started up just fine. They have had it all day and can't duplicate...... |
