Default Why on earth would you do this?!

So I was looking on Ebay for some Alcantara to wrap my steering wheel and parts of my dash in and I came across this listing. Euro Black Alcantara / Automotive Suede 18" x 58" | eBay Nothing really out of the ordinary so I scroll down to see if the seller has any better pics and come across this:

Why the hell would anyone put a Civic/Fit steering wheel in an NSX?! Especially after going through all that work to make it look so nice with the red stitched alcantara and then completely ruin it with the steering wheel?!

Maybe it's just me but that takes away a lot from the car for me

I find it so funny, that my 1992 SVX had alcantara all over it, from the factory, and now people think it is cool to put in cars 20 years later lol.

Subaru was SO ahead of their time in that 36k dollar car that did 154mph stock, with awd too boot.

For me it's not a cool factor, but more of a luxury one. Not to mention it feels great in the summer or winter. And since I'm doing it myself, Every time I get in my car I can say, "Hey, I did that."

I think they put the Fit/Civic steering wheel on there for the buttons for controlling the radio and phone. Those things didn't come standard (or even as an option) the last time they produced the NSX, right?

They put a steering wheel from a 19k car on a 90k car.. Just leave it with the OEM one or at least use an S2000 steering wheel.

That's an odd reason to go through all that trouble.

It's not like it's really a problem. It's just that they could have used much nicer options and went with that.. Makes me kinda sad that you would do that to such a great car.

Are you kidding? Do you remember how the NSX steering wheel looks? In a car that was so great, the steering wheel looks ridiculous.

If you wanted to keep the airbag and the OEM look as well as bluetooth and radio control from your steering wheel, why not put the Civic steering wheel in there? I mean They lined the entire car with alcantra. They're clearly not trying to build a stripped out race car.

I guess I've always seen them with the Type R style wheel and I've started to expect that rather than the normal OEM one. In that case I guess it's not that bad but i'd still prefer something that didn't come out of honda's second lowest end car.
