Hiyah,
Picked up my 1 owner GT version yesterday - your EX equivalent I think. 9 months old, 2450m and it cost me 22800$ US - new here would have been 33400$ US. Mine was cheapest used GT in UK at the time by some 5000$US - std spec, leather, no Navi in Turquoise. From what I can gather you guys pay less for new than we do for used, by some margin and I thought I had a good deal...! Part exd my Ford Mondeo Estate TDCi Titanium X Auto as running costs were getting crazy over here at 2.3$/litre for diesel (petrol is 2.1$/litre) and looking forward to some decent running costs with less than 50$/yr road tax compared to 385$/yr for the Ford and less Insurance too. Chalk and cheese cars I know, but so far been impressed with the liitle Honda. Bit awkward re getting in and out as so low, seat belt a pain as no height adjustment and still getting used to its other peculiarities... No real issues re the visibility that everyone goes on about as you just have to set your mirrors right and whats the big deal with the split rear view as it brilliantly blocks out the headlamps of the car behind? Picking up my daughter soon so waiting on her initial comments - wont be able to pick up all her friends anymore...shame, eh? Will keep all posted as the miles pile on. Baz. |

Hi, Zero.Welcome to the forum, and congratulations on your purchase. I'm afraid this might be the longest winter ever, as you wait for it to arrive. But I think you'll find the concensus here is that the car is well worth the wait.
Yes, you could worry about a new paint colour, or drive technology, that MIGHT appear in future model years. But they are not very likely in the USDM. You will find a lot of discussion on that here on the board - and looking back now at what we thought might happen in the 2012 model (turbo, Li-Ion, four seats, ...) is really kinda funny! While you wait, take a good look around our site, and learn lots about the car, get inspriation for some easy/cheap mods, and some incredibly impressive (and expensive) ones as well. Enjoy!

Thanks for the advice CR-Z Canadian. Bazza, congratulations on your purchase as well! It's always interesting to hear about the differences between the two markets. I actually went to the Honda UK site and built a CR-Z on there. It's amazing the different options that are available out of the US Market ie Glowing Speakers, LED-lined headlights and such. However, as you pointed out the price is a lot higher. I am also looking forward to getting better gas mileage over my Ford Probe and seeing what I can get out of it as a hyper miler.

I had to get the 6-speed. It was one of the selling points for me as I wanted to get good gas mileage but couldn't quite get myself to drive something as ugly as the Prius C and lose my stick shift. I really like the idea of a "Sporty Hybrid" so this car was the right fit for me.
