Honda did a good job getting the balance/drive feeling of the Elise in there and the economy of the Insight in the car. The hybrid engine management and CVT acceleration does take a little getting used to. She does go from a tree hugging Insight to CR-X like howling engine performance in sport mode using the paddle shifters. As far as personality, the cool gages go from calm green to angry red with the push of a button tightening up steering and throttle. Ease open her sturdy doors and climbing into her womb is pretty comfortable especially compared to the Elise. Inside I found a lot of nagging information to support maintaining 35 mpg fuel consumption for the daily commute. I'm sure we'll have long relationship.

Plan:
Probable the first Mod would be a Cat Back system - Let me know if you have a recommendation.

It looks like this car is some fun on an autocross course too.

This site is a great help in research for this car. Thanks for posting all the data.

Congrats and welcome. I liked the youtube video. Looks Nice.

There are a lot of threads for you to few here.

I have the 2nd cat deleted and KSK axle back. With the K&N Typhoon intake the car sounds great and performs much beter than stock.

Here is the exhaust thread.

For the nagging info on economy I place mine on distance till empty.

I had the stock 17" Wheels for the first year but now that I have done springs, wheels and fatter tires the car handles the way it should have from the factory.

There are at least two other folks on here with Loti. Ivan1 and myself. Welcome aboard.

I do like the handling balance on the CR-Z, but I find the steering to be a bit vague and the suspension to be horribly underdamped. While Honda claims to have used the Mini, Elise, and Scirocco as development metrics, I suspect the dampers/springs were lifted directly from the Insight. I might be wrong but I thought it even shares the same part numbers (someone correct me if I'm off base).

F1 style downshifts with the CVT approaching an apex can be quite fun. Enjoy!

Welcome aboard.

@JnC - Often times numbers are shared, but the actual part is different. The number tells what type of part it is, but the vehicle code determines which piece of hardware comes off the shelf.
