So far the cr-z has been great. I got a leftover 11 ex navi manual in black. I have the Honda xm kit on the way, along with the armrest and skunk2 shifter kit. I am hoping to get an amp for this car (a little louder and cleaner sound) and I don't want to do any cutting/splicing of wires. Are the speakers in this car worth an amp or do I need to address them too? I am sure several of you guys have done something like this, any advice will be much appreciated, Thanks in advance! Welcome to our new tree-hugging brother LOL.
Congratulations on the purchase - sounds nice. As for the sound system, 360 watts is good enough for me, but Scotty is right, there is a lot of expertise under the Interior and Ice heading. Good luck with your mods.

Congrats and welcome!
Don't know about the amp and speakers, but sure love the 6-speed. Have not turned on the audio more than once or twice in four months of ownership. Always been this way, just weird I am.

Thanks for the welcome!
The car has been great so far, I put about 500 miles on it in the first 6 days. I have two very minor gripes. One is it wanders on grooved cement highways, can't do much about the short wheelbase, and don't want to mess with different width tires yet. The other scared me at first. I noticed a weird sound when sometimes when I was turning the car, and one time when I pulled into a parking lot it was pretty loud. It sounded like a wheel may not be bolted on tight enough. I was worried so I parked and then before I got out of the car I heard the noise again. It was the wind going over the car. Today I had a more or less sustained 25-30 mph sidewind on the highway and there were some crazy noises. This wind was strong enough to blow over the propane grill in my back yard though, so I doubt the noises will be commonplace. I really like the car, I hope that future Hondas (other cars too) use the tach set-up the CRz has. And I am surprised how much attention it gets. The valet guy today was asking me all about it. |

I have had some wind noise issues with mine when it was parked and had a strong tail wind whistling along the rear hatch. I've only heard it twice now in 9 months so not a big deal, but is kind of off-putting the first time you hear it. Mine did have a drivers door seal that was improperly installed but Honda corrected that under warranty at the first oil change at 10K. Not sure that was the cause as the noise seemed to originate from the wind howling around the rear hatch (not something you would experience when driving unless you're sitting in traffic or speeding in reverse
)Congrats on the car - it's a great purchase for many reasons. |
