Almost two weeks old now. So far, I am enjoying my CR-Z. I have only taken one ride of any distance, a little more than 100 miles each way. This is moderately hilly terrain. On the way, I selected Econ, to see what it could do. I got a little better than 45 MPG, which I think is very good, considering the EPA estimate. On the way back, I selected Sport, and averaged about 41 MPG. In Econ mode, the cruise control allowed the car to slow down as much as five or six MPH going up hills. In Sport mode, it held its speed within a mile per hour or two. I am enjoying the car. I can't remember ever getting as many comments about the car's looks for any other car I have owned. It's hard to believe that the engine in this car is the same size as the CVCC in my 1975 Civic. The Civic was 53 horsepower, compared with 112 for this one. ![]() SCH

Welcome! Great to see another Minnesotan here. Now there might actually be a chance to see a CR-Z out there in a place other than the dealership lots
I haven't seen any others on the roads here yet, but I'll keep an eye out for you.45MPG is pretty good, that's about what I've been getting when driving conservatively. With the heat lately I've been running the AC just about every day, so maybe the efficiency will improve a bit more when it cools down here. Glad to hear you're having fun with the car so far. I just got my White 6-speed EX with Navi just a couple of weeks ago too. The day after I picked up the car I started in the northern suburbs of Minneapolis and ended up in a small town near the South Dakota border. Was having so much fun I lost track of time and location, but the Nav got me back home. Enjoy! |
