Default Hello from Baltimore

Hey everyone. My name is Adam, im 21 and from Baltimore, MD. I am about to get my real license (getting off of learners permit) and I plan on buying the CRZ as my first car. I have been to the dealerships and looked at them I have read about them, I studied them, and this is what I want for my first car. Hopefully within the next month or two, I will have my real license and then im off to the dealerships. This forum seems like a great community, and hopefully I can be a part of it.

Nice to have you on board. Any specific model or color you're interested in?

First...Thanks for the welcome. To answer your questions...probably just the basic, since there are aftermarket things I want to do to it (stereo, visuals...etc). Im torn between the Black or White. I talked to a dealer and he said since paying cash, he may be able to do 17,000-18,000. I will use this forum for alot, since I never had a car, and doing aftermarket things will be new for me, I have read and watched videos, but nothing compares to real life. Since I'm being a beginner, and nobody in my family or friends do aftermarket things, the whole world of aftermarket seems quite big and confusing, but im sure I will get used to it. It seems daunting to read how to figure out what wheels will fit the cars, and what wont work. I know this is getting off topic, but an example is the CRZ can have either 6x16 or 6.5x17 wheels, but I see people's car stats with 7x17, and I dont really know how much you can go over the width...7x17 is only a 1/4 inch difference on each side vs the 6.5x17, so I guess that isnt that big of a difference. The offests also confuse me...I will understand with time....anyway enough of the rant. Thanks for the welcome Varmint.

Welcome to the forum.
Beware - modding this car becomes addictive, and this site is NOT a support group for said addiction!
But it is a fantastic resource, full of very knowledgeable people, who put up with noobs like me trying to do things with my car. I've been driving for twice as long as you've been on the planet, and have never really been into customizing a car before - so don't feel like you are alone in being a bit bewildered. But there are lots of threads to look through, that take a lot of the confusion out. And if you are still feeling lost, just ask.

Meanwhile, good luck with your shopping - lots of threads about buying and scoring a good deal, too (may take a bit of searching, but the advice is good once you find them).

Thanks. From what I have seen, this isn't a "noob bashing" forum, so that is a good thing. Everybody is new at some point.

Welcome Feel free to ask away This was the first forum I became "active" in, even though some I had signed up on years ago... This one just seemed "right" with a great group of members Looking forward to your (hopefully) soon to purchase Z and to what you might have in store!

Thnks for the welcome. I agree, it's hard to find forums with good members who don't act like "elitist" just because they are either older than you, have been a member longer, or because you are a "noob". From what I have seen there is hardly any of that here.

Yep - Forum is a great place. Everyone pretty much understands that new members are what keeps the place running, fun and interesting.. Just be prepared to be dogged a bit if you don't use the search function..

Of course, I would never dog anyone out.. Never done it.. My story and sticking to it..

PS: the first member who pulls up a link to where I may of been perceived as to be dogging someone out gets banned for 7 days..

Welcome to the forums!
This certainly is not a noob bashing forum, and I must say, I've had the best welcome since joining here

Whats the insurance like for young drivers with you? I tried getting a quote for a CRZ in my first year of driving and the cheapest quote I could get was £16,000 with the most expensive being, wait for it... 64,000 GREAT BRITISH POUNDS!!!!
That means that the insurance company would expect me to completely write the car off four times!

I got my CRZ in my second year and the cost isn’t even a fraction of that, the system is rubbish
