Hi,
I've been enjoying driving my CR-Z Sport for a week now & I haven't stopped grinning!
My daily commute to work of 15 miles is a pleasure in the Hybrid & I've never driven a car that is being 'eye-balled' by just about everyone!
Pressing the 'Sport' button when in 'Normal' mode gives an almost turbo-like boost.....great fun!

Welcome to the forum!

I am curious about your experience with a battery pack at the end of it's life.

Did you start getting short charge amounts?

Did your fuel economy decrease?

Is is possible to drive the car once the battery fails to recharge?

What are you planning to do with the Insight? Junk it, trade it in, replace the batteries?

kinda off topic here... changing a name isn't a simple thing on here... it can be done, but doing so means someone has to manually edit all of your previous posts to your new name b/c it takes up double the server space for each post that's under a different name... or something like that lol... maybe Mike can chime in on this, but i doubt it will be changed...

Good afternoon (as it is here in the UK right now!)

Found this forum a week ago - after taking the CRZ for a 'spontaneous' test drive after passing local Honda dealer & admiring car on the forecourt!
I say spontaneous, as I was originally going to be test driving the MiTo, but for reasons of my own just didnt and then we happend to drive past the local Honda dealer on the way home!

The rest is history...... placed an order this week (but unless I wanted a white sport which I could have in about a fortnight apparently) I am having to wait for November delivery for the GT!!

Good wealth of info on here, nice one!

In brief, the IMA light came on and the code was P1447 -- Battery Pack Deterioration. After about 3 months and a few hundred miles deterioration is complete. No more charging. The repair at the dealership would be just under $6000. So she will be traded in. For more information about impacts and work-arounds check out InsightCentral.net and search for 'P1447' or 'dead battery'.

Hi all,

What a great Forum! I've been following this car for a while now so it's great to see a site dedicated to the CR-Z. Even though I don't plan on buying one any time soon, I'll try to get a test drive when they arrive here in the US. I am something of a hybrid fan, but I'm also a fan of cars of all types. I get my 'performance' fix by riding motorbikes...

Seems like the CR-Z is not getting any points for performance in the reviews, but I'm betting that Honda is aiming for a large aftermarket and customization "scene" for it.
