Question on the iPod workings with Navi

Hello all, I'm new here and the proud owner of a new 2012 Storm Silver EX with Navi and 6 speed. I've hooked up my iPod and can play it fine by navigating to a particular artist and album, but the one feature I haven't managed to figure out is random play. Basically, I want to hit a button and have it start randomly playing tracks from my library. Not just one artist, album, etc.

Am I missing something simple here? Just having a brainfart? I've read the manual and can't seem to figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just go to songs menu select the first song. Then press random (i think its button 2 preset) then every time you hit next track its random. Works for me anyway.
