![]() ![]() However, another forum member (FFEARLESS) asked me to develop "permanently attached" armrest pads for his doors (a little smaller than the original) that wouldn't cover the hand hole and would retain full functionality of the door panel. He originally mentioned glueing them on, but I told him that in my line of work, I could easily develop a template and instructions so that he could screw them on from the back sides of the door panels. I developed a new design for him, complete with an easy to use template and instructions for a simple DIY install that ANYONE could handle with confidence. *NOTE* This design (like the original) is Patent Pending. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The more I look at the "new" model arm rest, I like it MORE than the original! (And so does my son "Goose", my daughter, and my wife). Sure, the "removable" design will still appeal to some people who want a comfortable daily commute without a permanent Modification to their car. But personally, I think the newer design actually looks OEM; like what Honda SHOULD have incorporated into the CR-Z's door panels. I think it is tasteful, elegant, and most of all SUPER COMFORTABLE! Your elbow is actually even with the other elbow on the OEM center console arm rest, and you cannot tell that the other 3" of armrest length (on the original model) is not there. It feels natural, looks factory, and remains functional. I wanted to post this to give "FFEARLESS" a sneak-peek of his new arm rests, and also to gauge interest of other forum members who may want one (but two would look better as a matching pair). Like the originals, these would also be available upholstered in Black Vinyl, Black Alcantara, or Grey Alcantara (pictured). A firm, yet plush "Highly Resilient" (H.R.) Foam is used under the upholstery. The armrest pads will have threaded metal inserts pressed & bonded into their bases--the threaded holes match the template's holes, so you can attach the pads to the doors from underneath with screws and washers. Installation would go as follows: - Cut-out paper template (attached to instructions) with scissors - Position paper template and tape-down - Drill two 3/32" "Pilot" holes through template marks and through door panel ledge - Remove paper template and ream holes to 3/16" size - Remove door panel - Attach armrest to door panel from back side with 2 screws & washers (supplied) - Put door panel back on and enjoy! ![]() Pricing for each kit will be $100.00 (shipped inside the continental U.S.). Each kit will include two hand-crafted arm rest pads (driver and passenger's sides), detailed instructions (with pictures), a mounting hole drilling template and attachment hardware. If you are interested, send me a PM. Anyone who would like to change their pending orders can do so at any time.

Yes I do. Right now, I have a thicker, Marine-Grade Vinyl in Black that seems to be pretty popular. I am currently sourcing a high quality Black Alcantara (micro suede) and should have it really soon.
As of today, my only 2 options are Black Vinyl and Dark Grey Alcantara. However, I just spoke with a local upholstery shop yesterday about OEM Honda fabrics. NO ONE can get the checkerboard seat cushion fabric (right now), but I did find a swatch of metallic mesh-type fabric in Honda's upholstery book that might just be THE BOMB. ![]() It is a silvery-metallic GREY (in the center of the picture). It is 1 or 2 shades darker than the silver cloth already on the door panels. It is from the 2011 Civic. It is special order at $65.00 a yard; but I'm going to order some really soon to "try it out". When I held the swatch next to my seat and door panel in the sun, it looked friggin' SWEET! I'll keep you guys posted with pics of various coverings as we get them done for current customers. My son "Goose" had hernia surgery today, so I'm working solo again--for a few days. But the boy got some fabrication done for a few orders last night to prepare... I am still accepting orders via PM. Just let me know what you guys want! Also, please put your "Forum Screen Name" in the notes block when paying through PayPal. I don't know many people here by there real names! ![]() --Rob
