Default Navigation Issue with Day/Night Settings

I apologies if this topic has already been discussed, I did a search but didn't find anything. If it has, can someone share a link to that discussion?

Here is my issue: my Navigation screen won't switch from day mode to night mode when I have selected the auto option. It stays in the day mode even after the lights automatically turn on at night. The day mode screen is really bright and makes it harder to see past the screen when driving at night so I currently have to manually place it in night mode and back to day.

Anyone else have this issue? Is there a quick fix for this (I hope)? Any advice, suggestions, or links to the subject are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

-Derrick

turn on your lights and dim (slowly) the dash light a little until the navigation system turns into "night mode" .Turning an and off headlight should change the navigation between day and night mode.

Thanks, I will try the dimmer thing tonight. Turning the headlights on and off doesn't work... but I'm hoping the dimmer thing will.

Thanks again,
Derrick

The dimmer switch did the trick. Thank you so much for the help!
