How are the front speakers wired in the base model?

I've been reading threads and searching for a while to no avail. Your help is much appreciated.

From what I've read, the stock tweeter crossover is wired onto the tweeters' cables:

I installed a new head unit (the Pioneer AVH-P4400BH). I wired up the harness. I want to use the stock speaker wires. At the harness, there was only one pair of wires for FR and one pair for FL. That is, there were not separate wires for the tweeters at the harness. This leads me to believe that the tweeters are spliced into the woofers' speaker wiring.

The question: Are the tweeters' wires spliced off of the front woofer wires? If so, where? I'd like to find these splices and put my crossover units there.

I replaced the component speakers in my EX with Polk Audio components. I didn't see or change the crossovers, just the woofers/tweeters. Have no problems except the factory '360' watt amp is not strong enough to drive them to their fullest potential, imho. The next step is going to be a new sub in the factory enclosure and a 500 watt amp for the sub and front speakers.

Yeah, I read the DIY for a Polk component upgrade on an EX. But I don't have an amp, and I replaced the HU. So I'm just trying to figure out what's between the stock harness and the stock speakers, if anything--and where it is.

Also, does anyone know if either of these speaker harnesses works with the CR-Z speaker wire harnesses?
