I read somewhere else that the batteries exploded. Still though, it was probably cranked up to 11 to see what would happen, and supercars explode all the time while pushing limits. I still have faith and will still buy this if I can afford it. Although I may get extended warranty with added life insurance!

Is that the original paint job, or did the fire do those crazy zig zags?

Those are "camo" paint jobs to hid the final look of the car.

They camo prototypes so you can't see body lines on the car.

Now now. I wouldn't be so critical. Things blowing up, catching fire, melting, shorting out, and just generally not working are all part of the process. Ask any engineer how many times they got it wrong before they finally got it right. Thomas Edison and his incandescent light bulb is an excellent example.

Honda will figure it out, I have no doubt about that.

They're absolutely terrible. It's only a matter of time before a CRZ battery pack explodes and seriously injures someone just like this NSX prototype did could have done. Thankfully the test drivers were very well trained in the lost Japanese art of EZHOTGETTEHFUKOUT.

Fire does some crazy things to paint. I've been thinking about recreating the effect myself with a blow torch and some plasti dip.
