Default In love again

I had a test drive in the new Civic this afternoon.

It was a 2.2l diesel and it felt like a barge.

When I got back in my Zed it was like sitting in a race car.

No Civic for me.

Don't take that Z for granted!

My wife has an '08 Civic EXL automatic. Boxy and boring, poor mileage, sluggish acceleration for a 1.8L, and the dash is hideous. She regrets the decision now. I have problems with my left knee, and when the discomfort gets too great, we have to swap cars since I have a 6MT. ZZZZZZZZ...that about sums up the ride in the Civic.

Once I get my knee surgery, she'll only get the passenger side view.

Our 2005 Mazda 3 Hatch (4AT) has sat so long that the battery went too low to crank it.

Charged it up overnight, took it for a drive today...boy was I surprised!

This was a car I used to like driving; good road car, practical storage, handled well, etc.

Today it felt big and clunky, steering was heavy and slow, auto shifted too firmly.

I don't mean to dis the Mazda, we still like the car, its paid-for, and only 32k miles.

Just that after driving our CR-Z for a while, the Mazda is not the same as it was.
