Default Good choice

Hi,

I've got close to 20K on my 2012 6MT and the only regret was not getting a few extras at the time. No rattles, no windnoise (at least up to 75mph) and compared to my old WRX, it is really, really quiet. I can hear the radio nicely at 60mph with the windows open, couldn't do that with the Subie. But, what I like the most is that people come up all the time and ask, "What kind of car is that? it is really cute" (from the gals), "It's really cool" (from the guys) and "It's really a nice looking car" (from the senior crowd even).

No problems (had a year) but found it really hates Texas summer heat. The MPGs fall from 38-42 to a steady 36. The battery gets hot and can't cool down so it won't give much assist or charge. Also the cab gets so hot and the a/c simply can't keep up. Eco-mode in July-September here is just about unusable during the day (unless you don't mind cooking inside your car), but even normal or sport mode the A/C still has problems dealing with this heat.

I will be getting some tint, but really... this is the first car I've owned that the a/c struggles so much.

Even though this sounds like a big deal, it's not to me. The CR-Z is like a science experiment; no matter what, it's still fun.

Just passed the 1 year mark. No issues so far as expected in a Japanese car. I'm very pleased with it. Lot of bang for the dollar (I can never go back to a car without HID now) and a solid well built car for the price.

You'll be amazed at how much of a difference good quality tint can make. I live in NC, where the darkness of tint is very restricted - but even light thermo tint makes the car so much more comfortable.

And to the OP, just repeating what everyone else here says - this car is just too much fun to drive.

I've never said that.

I'd say that its too much fun NOT to drive.

Welcome to the forum. I think you're just hearing the battery fan.

I'm not entirely sure how all that works back there, but the battery gets the hottest when it is charging (engine braking), so I think it would only turn on when it is dissipating heat as to not be another constant drain on the battery as well.
