I actually have done most of the dash in plastidip. Almost a perfect match. Little more shine than stock. My girl puts her shoes all over the dash, so that has a few minor scratches, but its not too noticeable. I need to pull the center console and doors off still. Also, Hoi, what did u do about the dash frame itself? I pulled the pieces that I could, but a couple sections dont come off. Did you tape it off inside the car and hit it with the plastidip? Curious how u got that part black on both sides.

I sprayed it in the car and cleaned up the overspray. Also sprayed the inside of the glovebox door. I didn't use plastidip on the headliner nor the sunvisors. Those I used vinyl dye/paint. Dupli color I believe.

Well, the weather finally cooperated - above freezing on a weekend, so I bundled up and did the black console swap-out (no armrest), and the Fit CVT shift knob at the same time.
Very pleased with the result - but a few comments for anyone who is an amateur like me at vehicle disassembly / reassembly: Even in the cold, the parts clips come out very well. The parts are far stronger than you might fear. But warming the car up helps a lot. I only wound up with 2 "extra" screws in the end - by the time I realized it, I was too far along in the process to care - I pronounced them surplus to requirements, and saved them in case I ever go in there again. Just too cold and dark by then - but I should have taken more time and care. Use a magnetic Phillips screwdriver - should the screws around the gearshift fall through, you will wind up disassembling the whole console again to get to them (dumb!). If you are swapping consoles without armrest, there is no need to take the old rear cupholder off the old console (there are no fasteners under this). Not sure if it is a Canada thing, but the part numbers were slightly different from the ones shown in the beginning of this thread. But they managed to come even though the exterior black is not available here. I did see a rumour that the Canadian Milano Red 2012 CR-Z will be available with black interior. Photos to come, if I can ever figure out how to post them from an iPad. Dang Flash!

![]() Yeah, I'll stop using my iPad for a camera in all light - but this gives you the idea! Now to decide what colour Clazzio's to go with. Suggestions? I'm torn between black/black perf insert and blue stitching, or light grey/black perf insert and no contrasting stitching.
