Tomorrow, the 29th, will be my 1 year anniversary with my CR-Z. That makes today the last day of my first year with it. The odometer reads 15,212 miles, but being that it had 4 miles on it when I bought it, I can I officially claim 15,208 of those miles. It hasn't given me a single problem and hope that the second year is just as trouble free. I do tend to baby it by changing the oil every 5,000 miles, parking extremely far or in isolated areas, and rotating the wheels as well as cleaning the air filter every 10,000 miles. I put in a K&N drop in at the 10,000 mark and plan on cleaning it every 10,000 miles. I also rarely use the sport button and almost never drive past 72mph.
This year I averaged 38.4 mpg, which I think is great considering that I constantly deal with Los Angeles traffic. I just reset my trip b odometer which I use to calculate my yearly average. Plans for my second year with the car include achieving at least 40 mpg. I think its possible considering that I had never used my cruise control feature at all this past year and plan on using it a lot this upcoming year (I didn't know how to use it until I read the instructions this last week). I also want to get a spoiler, the body side molding, the stainless steel door sills, a pair of Clazzios, and hopefully an IPOD Classic for it. |
