Both mine have been cracked for over a year, and they still light up. Over time the socket will corrode inside because it is open to the elements, but so far the bulbs have remained working.

My right passenger side fog light has been cracked for about 6 months now and I finally went to the dealer. Surprisingly, the service manager replaced it under warranty without question! I would imagine him giving me a hard time and not replace it under warranty. So for all of you with cracked fogs, definitely go back to your dealer!!! I was never going to go....but I had to take my car in for an oil change, so might as well ask while I was there!

Luck.
Wouldnt the tape melt after a while from the heat? The fog lights get extremely HOT!

^^ i doubt the tape would melt but it might dry up and fall off....just put fog lens covers on to protect them they withstand the heat and my drivers side fog light was cracked after a month of having the car and i just covered it up with the lenses and you cant even tell!

Noticed my drivers side fog light was cracked and as the car is due its 25k service asked the garage to fix it.
The cost is £275 fitted ($440.00)! but the best part is they can't fix it as Honda are not stocking it.
It's a company car so i'm not paying nevertheless it's a ripoff and it stinks.

Default Cracked Fog Lights

I just discovered my fog lights have cracked for the second time. The first time back in October 2012, after showing this forum to the dealer they offered to pay for the parts and I pay for labor, but only once. It was a $560 item P&L. I called Honda to complain about this problem and they have had no record of complaints about the lights cracking prematurely and don't see it as a problem because it cracks from roadside debris. Unfortunately I won't be replacing them anymore until Honda realizes that this is a problem and starts using LED lights, which produce little heat and lexan lenses. It's too expensive to keep replacing them at this frequency.

Has anyone had issues with the aftermarket lexan covers causing the lights to overheat?

My boss has a 10 year old Porsche Carrera and has never had a problem with his fog lights cracking and he drives a lot more miles than I do.

From reading the posts it looks like there are two issues, one is from impact from road debris and the other is from the light overheating and getting moisture in the light.

My suggestion is to everyone in this forum is to call Honda and voice a complaint. If enough of us file one it will send a message that this is a problem.
