People really should be checking COLD tire pressure with a guage at every other gas fill-up.
Colder weather means a decrease of tire pressure. Summer heat causes pressure to build higher, and now the opposite. |

Mine goes off a lot, usually different tires. I think it's more sensitive than any other I've owned, but it does a great job. When it comes on, I always check all the tires and fill up as needed, then it turns off. However, I often think there is a flat at first because I've had a lot of issues with these tires.

When the weather turns colder I've had the TPMS low pressure light come on. I've always run it to the dealer on the way to work and they take care of it right away.
We had our first cool temps earlier this week and the CR-Z TPMS low pressure light didn't come on. It did turn on with my 2010 Insight. Today I finally got around to checking the cold tire pressure (they were all around 29-30 PSI), so I inflated them all to 33 (as indicated on the car). Drove it down the street and back and the warning light turned off. Took the Insight to Target and back and the warning is definitely cleared. |
