Default Air Filter Question

Hey Guys - this might be a dumb question so bear with me. . .

I have the Takeda intake and have both a dry filter and the oiled one.
I've been running the dry for a couple of months with no problems and was going to switch to the oiled yesterday. I took a look at it and it's obviously no longer oiled and probably should be hit up again. Now I have (2) K&N cleaning kits and plenty of oil but no official Takeda cleaning or oil products.

Can I use the K&N cleaning kit and/or oil on the Takeda filter?
How bad is it to run an oiled filter without having freshly oiled it?

Thanks in advance!

Honestly man i couldnt tell ya.......i dont see an issue with the K&N oil tho i believe they're all the same. The oil acts as a protector and repels water i don't think it could hurt.

Are you sure you need to oil it? The oil shouldn't evaporate, as it's formulated to have a high volume of air passing across it all the time.. Also, the filter shouldn't really feel oily.

Otherwise, I'd agree. the K&N oil should be fine.
