Default When is time for servicing?

I have had my 2011 CRZ since May 2011. It now has 8,100 miles on it. Except for several times where there were battery issues over the summer of 2011 that were addressed by the dealer (fixed by replacing the factory battery by an upgraded one), I have not had it in for regular maintenance servicing, because the dealer service manager told me that I should bring it in when the "Service" light displayed. He would not give either a number of miles (e.g., 7500), nor a time (e.g., 6 months), even when pressed, just kept repeating to bring it when the service light illuminated.

Should I bring int in anyway at 8100 miles / 1.3 years (~1 since last battery incident)?

Might the service light be malfunctioning?

Mine came up at 8000-some (the notice, but not the "do it ASAP!" warning). I changed my oil and rotated my tires right at 9000.

I think it varies.. I'm at almost 28k and I've had 2 services performed so far. My next should be at 30k, but my oil life is still at 40% so it might be 31-32k.

How much oil life does it tell you, you have? I would normally say let the car tell you, but I have an aversion to leaving the same oil in for over a year. But that is just me. Sounds like you are a low mileage driver. Most usually do 12K or over a year which usually equates to an oil change at least once a year. I have 20K on mine and the only service I have been notified of is oil changes. Unfortunately it doesn't tell me to rotate tires. Have to track that myself. Even if you wait to change oil, probably need to be rotating tires which is about every 5K.

Still interested in what the oil life meter says after 1.3 years.

I got A1 (oil change+ tire rotation) at about 12k and then B1 (oil change + filter change + tire rotation) at 24k.

Yikes - First tire rotation at 24K?? I'm good with 10K+ oil changes with the new tech, (under a year) but not sure I am good with 24K tire rotation intervals..

Recommended at 5K normally and 3K if on lowering springs?

Sorry: Saw you had rotation at 12K also. But still.. And I never got a 12K rotation message..

In Italy I have to service every year, regardless of km driven. Last was oil change plus some minor checks and IMA update.

Just had A13 at just over 20,000 miles. Got the car pre-owned from a dealership at under 9,000 miles, so I assumed the first service was done when the previous owner traded it in.
