Honda Launches Mode Art CR-Z Facebook Application

Honda UK has debuted an innovative facebook application that uses information from the user’s profile pages to create a personal piece of digital artwork. The campaign was created to support the launch of the CR-Z hybrid, which will enter the British market tomorrow, June 5.

Dubbed “Mode Art”, the app has been developed by digital creative agency Collective and supported by media agency Starcom.

“The ‘Mode Art’ application allows users to create unique designs that incorporate images, names, dates and other details from their own Facebook pages. Each piece of art follows a theme of Sport, Econ or Normal - reflecting the unique driving modes of Honda’s CR-Z,” stated the press release.

The application offers users the possibility to change setting to alter the style of the piece of art, or change Facebook inputs to influence the design. After the artwork is generated it can be downloaded, shared with others, uploaded to Honda’s facebook fan page or transferred to a mobile phone to be used as wallpaper.

“As the world’s first sporty hybrid, it’s stylish looks stand-out from other ‘green’ cars on the market and it offers true driving thrills thanks to an agile chassis, direct steering, a low driving position and useful boosts of torque from the petrol-electric drivetrain. It’s most at home in urban environments, zipping from light to light, and nipping in and out of traffic. And because it’s a hybrid it has low exhaust emissions, benefits from cheaper road tax, and – for Londoners – is exempt from the Congestion Charge,” stated the press release.
