No car manufacturer has escaped the current economic downturn, well almost no one, and that has forever changed the automotive. Plans for diesel models from Acura and Honda have been put off as have a V8, RWD flagship for Acura. Pity. What can we expect from the big H over the next few years? 2010 saw the introduction of the hybrid Insight. I was extremely disappointed when I finally plunked down in the production model and NO it wasn't because they didn't treat me to any goodies during the press days. Instead, I was not pleased with the cheap interior plastics of the Insight. Combine that with a very strong 2010 Toyota Prius entry that is priced only a few dollars higher and I see little to draw non-Honda loyalists in. It would seem that buyers agree, my local Honda dealer is chock-a-block with Insights and my Toyota dealer is telling people to take it or leave it. ... There is lots of excitement over the forthcoming hybrid CR-Z coupe. I wasn't taken with the concept CR-Z so we I am very cautious about the production model. We will have to see if the CR-Z can live up to the CR-X's legend. Read the whole article: here.
