Jackson Racing's Rotex supercharger kit for the Honda CR-Z has been out for a while now, but the guys at Honda Tuning Magazine just got their hands on the development vehicle used for the project. While the review of the tuned hybrid is short, it does make one thing very clear; this supercharged CR-Z is a much more realistic option that an K-Series engine swapped CR-Z.
This beautiful red car was built by the father and son team of Oscar Jackson Sr. and Jr. In addition to the supercharger that adds 50 HP and 45 LB/FT of torque to the stock performance numbers they have upgraded the suspension setup. The development car uses KW Variant 1 coilovers. To maximize grip, larger, wider 17 inch Volk CE28s wear Nitto Invo tires
This kit is California Emissions (CARB) approved and is designed to maximize fuel economy thanks to a built-in bypass valve that kicks in when the engine is cruising.
So who is running a similar setup?
