The ultra gauge is off by 20 percent on its mpg and still wont show a full tank. I did check the settings and its right. If I use the max percent at fill up it is accurate at fill up but with a 20 percent less than what the average mpg is. It says I am getting 55 mpg. I would have used Shell regular but no power and being on the highway most of the time you need a safety margin encase of emergency which premium gives me. MPG will be secondary and will try BP ultimate if their prices come down. Wish the temperatures did not fall so fast, we are 15 degrees below normal so I hope its not a sign of a bad winter. |

KA, its warming up and the range went up to almost 600 miles today. Premium does help get better mpg and has a lot more power for the interstate. This is the first time using Shell for more than 1 tank and having the ultra gauge and seeing the numbers are really enlightening. So far this is what I have observed. Shell regular is better than what the dealer uses and Shell plus is not that much better than regular with only a little more power and mpg about the same. Premium with 10 miles city and lots of idling and 23 mpg on the display I got it to 41mpg today and driving only to and from work driving 65 mph. I did not think I was going to get the mpg back especially that fast. The car is in Econ too. |

The gas prices are trying to come down a bit, so that's good and I see BP is a little lower at a couple of the stations I pass but I'm sticking with Shell 93. While I'm on my trip down to the Dragon I'm not going to have the luxury of Shell everytime but I'll be using brand name fuels though, that's for sure and I know where we're staying there's a Shell station, so that's good and there's another one on the other side of the mountain 65 miles away.
I'm really going to be interested in the mileage on the freeway this time as the best I got last year was 44.6 mpg from northern KY to Chicago and that was the car in stock trim w/ just a drop-in K&N, that's it. 16 more days to go for that! |

The cooler weather has affected my MPG's, down to 40.7 mpg's on the last tank, got gas fuel this morning and I was pretty surprised! I know there were a couple days leading up to this fill-up where my outside temp was showing upper 40's and temps going to work were in the low to mid 60's. I'm still using Shell 93 but have gotten it from a different station, today I went back to the one I usually go to. My OBC showed 42.4 mpg and its never been this big of gap, hmmmm

I drive 37 miles mostly freeway to and from work (74 total). I played with the three settings and find I do get best MPG in sport mode as well. I am averaging 44-46 per tank, moderate to aggressive driving.
