Also, my max range at fill up has been steadily increasing. I took this pic a little ways after I left the gas station (reset trip A) for a total range estimate of 531 miles. ![]() I'm wondering a few things... one, has anyone gotten a better range estimate than me? (I need something to shoot for!) Also, I've been trying to figure out how this is calculated. For example, I notice that it will fluctuate slightly based on driving. Specifically, I generally don't have the patience to squeeze mileage 100% of the time. Usually on my commute I tend to squeeze the MPG. Otherwise I drive a little more... wastefully... but not by much. My average for my last few tanks is just under 45 mpg. So, I'll watch it lose 50 miles of range in 2 miles. But then I'll regain my patience and gain back 45 of those lost 50 miles. But, even if I have a 10 mile stretch at less than 25 mpg, it won't drop the range to be as if the rest of the tank was at 25 mpg, if that makes any sense. Anyway... just some idle thought. -wk

Very nice.. Impressive..
Personal experience.. A couple of days ago - I was at 1 bar on the gauge and decided to check the range - it showed 20 miles - Was somewhat confused thinking with 1 bar I had at least a US gallon or or more. Filled up the tank and sure enough - 9.1 US gallons were put into it.. Raises the question of with over a gallon left why would the range only show 20 miles?? Average MPG on the tank was 37mpg in this instance.. ![]()

I think about 560 is the best range I've seen but I've never got anywhere near it in actual distance covered - 485 is the best I've had which took about 38l to fill.
Regarding the accuracy of "zero" Scotty, manufacturers usually make such things pretty pessimistic - they really don't want you to run out, or complain that it died still showing 1 mile left or some such. I usually do about 20 miles beyond "0" on the Z, and my last car would go 60 or 70 - I never ran out of fuel. |

Last week my range said 20 miles and I have an 11 mile trip home so I thought I would just get gas the next day. With about 3-4 miles to get home the range started dropping quickly until it reached zero. I pulled in a gas station and was able to put 9.4 gallons in it... I have gone to the less than 20g range before and put 10g in it. I dont trust it now...

I haven't even run it down close to zero yet. Not even single digits.... I tend to fill up before range goes down below 30 miles.
So far, though, it's been reasonably accurate. It always seems to under-estimate the range. Therefore, I have no issue trusting it. Most I've ever put in at a fill up was 9.3 gallons with the range in the teens.

Wow. All this stop and go traffic in a la is killing me, most ive gotten was about 38.9 and full 10gln tank to a range of 430-440. Wich is still better than my fit (33mpg, 315-330 p/10gl tank) or lancer (27mpg, 300-315p/14-15gl tank) ever did.
