i tried a couple different things to get good MPG and found that one good way was to set Cruise Control while in Normal and once it's settled after removing the foot from the gas then you switch it to Econ and the speed stays the same but your Live Mileage Meter gets better. ended up with a 37mpg avg. on that tank which is a big improvement for me. just thought i'd share that

I found a big fuel saver to be to trail behind an 18-wheeler. Mind you, I'm not talking about tailgating, which is obviously not safe, but by staying a few car lengths (~4-5) behind a truck going about 65 mph, I notice a 3-4 mpg increase in fuel efficiency. I always heard that drafting behind a truck helped improve efficiency, but seeing it in action was very interesting. Drafting at a relatively safe(r) distance, I clocked just over 45 mpg (6MT), compared to my usual 40-42 mpg on the same stretch of road and same driving speed/style.
