Default Fuelly Statistic and profile Thread

First, I want to encourage everyone to join and track your fuel economy on www.fuelly.com

The CRZ is well represented on Fuelly and already we have 162 owners tracking their fuel economy and in over 900,000 miles the overall average fuel economy is presently 39.0 mpg. http://www.fuelly.com/car/honda/cr-z Which is among the best average for any car except the other Honda Hybrids and the Prius.

Everyone on the CRZ forum, who is presently tracking their fuel economy on fuelly.com, should make a post to this thread and if you have your fuelly badge in your signature we can see how you are doing. More importantly fill out this profile so we can see some stats about your car and your driving habits. This will allow others to see why you get such good (or bad) fuel economy from your CRZ.

Just quote this post and you will get the template for filling in your information. If you remove the
"[QUOTE]" and the first part of this post in the reply it will format just like a regular post. Note that you can always edit your original post to add mods or note changes that would affect your fuel economy.

My Fuelly stats:

Transmission: 6MT

Wheels and tires: stock Dunlop 195/55/16

Modifications to your car: none

Driving style: I drive a bit faster than the speed limit and keep up with the flow of traffic

Typical Driving conditions: I live in Maui where the temperatures are never less than 65 degrees and never more than 90 degrees. Mostly suburban type driving with a little city and no interstate driving

Daily commute distance:most trips are 5-10 miles with quite a few 1-2 mile runs thrown in. Rarely take any trips of more than 20 miles

Tire pressures: maintain 30-35 psi

Most common driving mode: normal

6MT typical shift points: 3000 rpms

Air conditioning use: almost always on

Tell us anything special you do to get better fuel economy or anything you do that typically hurts your fuel economy: when I got my CRZ in October I did allot of experimenting to see the effects on fuel economy. I found I could get 3-5 more MPGs by not using A/C and short shifting, but more recently have not been doing anything to try to maximize fuel economy other than trying to minimize braking and coasting whenever possible.

My Fuelly stats:

Transmission: CVT

Wheels and tires: Stock Dunlops

Modifications to your car: Door Visors

Driving style: Probably somewhat conservative compared to most

Typical Driving conditions: Lots of Highway at posted speed

Daily commute distance: 75 miles roundtrip

Tire pressures: 40psi - mpg has increased about 5% since increasing tire pressure.

Most common driving mode: Econ

6MT typical shift points: n/a

Air conditioning use: Some

Tell us anything special you do to get better fuel economy or anything you do that typically hurts your fuel economy:
I do a lot of coasting when coming to a stop. I don't chase stop lights. Other than that I really don't do anything special.

My Fuelly stats: are in my signature.

Transmission: 6MT

Wheels and tires: Stock Bridgestone 195/55/16

Modifications to your car: none

Driving style: I drive at around the speed limit and keep up with the flow of traffic

Typical Driving conditions: I'm in "temperate" north of England, so not boiling hot or freezing cold (mostly). Typically 0 - 25 celcius winter to summer. My commute is quite hilly.

Daily commute distance: 20 miles urban, 70 miles motorway. M62 is a busy piece of road in rush hour so I typically cruise at 60 -75 depending on traffic.

Tire pressures: 35 psi

Most common driving mode: normal, some econ when commuting

6MT typical shift points: 2 - 2.5k rpms

Air conditioning use: mostly off except when it's hot or humid.

Tell us anything special you do to get better fuel economy or anything you do that typically hurts your fuel economy: I just try to drive sensibly, anticipate stops etc - no point in rushing on the commute as it doesn't achieve anything. I don't use Econ on big hills as the battery gets depleted too quickly. I don't use Sport much but that's more down to me not be able to get used to the extra throttle response - I find it a bit too sharp. When not commuting I have a bit of fun and that brings the mpg down to 40 or so (UK gallons).

My Fuelly stats: In signature

Transmission: CVT

Wheels and tires: Stock

Modifications to your car: Nothing affecting fuel economy

Driving style: Left lane driver

Typical Driving conditions: Highway, moderate traffic

Daily commute distance: 40 miles

Tire pressures: 40 psi

Most common driving mode: normal

Air conditioning use: Everyday, I'm a ***** and don't want sweat stains or melting hair gel.

Tell us anything special you do to get better fuel economy or anything you do that typically hurts your fuel economy: Avoid stop lights, my new commute has very few pauses which has helped fuel economy the past couple weeks.

My Fuelly stats: overall 45.0, running avg 45.7

Transmission: 6 mt

Wheels and tires: stock Dunlop

Modifications to your car: none

Driving style: usually drive to try to maximize mpg

Typical Driving conditions: 60/40 hgwy/cty, mostly flat, dry.

Daily commute distance: 51 r/t

Tire pressures: 38

Most common driving mode: use all three, doesn't seem to affect mpg very much at all

6MT typical shift points: 1,800-2,000 rpms, which on level ground uusally equates to 2nd at 8 mph, 3rd at 15, 4th at 21, 5th at 26, 6th at 32+.

Air conditioning use: usually auto mode, 70-72 degrees

Tell us anything special you do to get better fuel economy or anything you do that typically hurts your fuel economy: 1. I reset the "B" odometer at the beginning of each day and leave the display on avg "B" mpg as a guide while driving. At the end of driving for the day, I toggle through to see what impact the day's driving had on that tank's "A" mpg. 2. I try to anticipate as far ahead as possible, coasting whenever it makes sense.

My Fuelly stats: In signature

Transmission: 6MT

Wheels and tires: Stock

Modifications to your car: none

Driving style: Somewhat conservative

Typical Driving conditions: I drive mostly in South Spain, which in my area is quite hilly! Motorways are in good conditions and roads are well kept in general. Summers can be very hot (sometimes up to 40oC) and winters are quite mild (rarely below 5oC)

Daily commute distance: n/a. I walk to the office

Tire pressures: As recommended: 2.1 bar (31 psi) for the front wheels and 2 bar (29 psi) for rear wheels. Will try to increase slightly and see what is the impact on mpg. However, roads in Gib are very rough and with a high tyre pressure, the driving is quite bumpy.

Most common driving mode: Econ, but started to use sport only at the motorway

6MT typical shift points: Around 2k rpm, but slightly higher when going up a hill

Air conditioning use: All the time at the moment (21oC), and it is hitting my mpg!

Tell us anything special you do to get better fuel economy or anything you do that typically hurts your fuel economy: Keep an eye at the instant mpg and try to adapt my driving accordingly.

My fuelly stats: Below

Transmission: 6MT

Wheels and tires: Stock

Modifications to car: Upgraded audio system

Driving Style: Like an old man in a Buick

Typical driving conditions: Almost all highway. First half of my commute is low 50s MPH. Very easy to get MPGs up high, little traffic but the second half is higher 60s with some steep hills and lots of traffic regardless of time.

Tire pressure: 38 psi

Most common driving mode: Sports all the time.

6MT typical shift points: 1,500-2,000 rpms

Air conditioning use: All the time. I never put it on auto just a couple of bars on manual mode usually set between 68-75*F. Sometimes I bump it up higher just to get a little relief but not for to long.

Anything special I do? Really I try to just pay attention the whole time I drive with economy and efficiency in mind.

My Fuelly stats: In signature

Transmission: CVT

Wheels and tires: Stock

Modifications to your car: Splash guards

Driving style: easy does it, goose it only to merge or pass

Typical Driving conditions: suburban

Daily commute distance: 20 mi. 2 lane canopy road, 3 mi. In town.

Tire pressures: 35

Most common driving mode: normal, some Eco, rare sport

6MT typical shift points: n/a

Air conditioning use: always, mostly auto on low (it's HOT in Florida!)

Tell us anything special you do to get better fuel economy or anything you do that typically hurts your fuel economy: I just drive easy, try to predict what the cars or lights ahead will do and plan my gas/braking/coasting accordingly. Only 1k miles on the car so far, so I'm hoping the mpg will improve as it gets broke in.
