I did some testing and found that I get way better mpg while staying solely in NORMAL mode. So I filled up and drove from Long Island, NY to Washington, DC. (approx. 275 miles) The later I headed back north. I made it back into New Jersey (approx. 120 miles) So when i filled up yesterday morning the numbers were 294.0 miles... 8.687 gallons... $3.80 price... 33.8 avg. mpg Then last nights fill up numbers were 392.0 miles... 9.415 gallons... $3.40 price... 41.6 avg. mpg 41.6 is great

Man, I wish I would get 41 mpg. Mine kinda seems I am getting better mileage in town right now. 38 or 39 in town and 36 to 37 on interstate. Go figure. I will do my first full tank fill up tonight and do the math. Computer shows me at 37.4 mpg right now. Almost 100 percent in normal

My average for my first tank of gas, which involved a lot of mixed styles of driving, average out to 35 US MPG, (ok, 34.9
) and this is driving in winter conditions and some idling/warm up on most starts. I made a 100 mile trip on the second tank and for that trip got the average up to 46 MPG, driving around 58 MPH without cruise control, using econ mostly and switching to normal when going through the ocasional town. I was doing very well working on what amounts to a pulse-n-glide technique for hills but then somebody got on my rear bumper so I leveled it out to 58 for the bulk of the trip. It did appear that, had I been able to keep the road to myself, I would have gotten a few more MPG because how you handle a hill seems to make a big difference. Good luck on keeping up the MPG numbers!

>> 41.6 is great
It is great! This past week it was above freezing all week and my mileage went up too. Did my normal commute and around town driving for 411 miles on 9.305 gallons for 44.2 mpg. Probably would have been better if it hadn't been raining a couple of days. I'm hoping my mileage will continue to rise with the temperature. When do we stop getting winter gas?? |
