I know where Mount Shasta is! I'll be driving through there at the end of the month for my friend's wedding in Medford, Oregon (I used to live here). I will take my car and will see how it goes. Hoping to get there in only a tank of gas. 300 miles for me from Reno, NV. Good luck!!! |

I lived in Ashland, OR when I was 15, then parents moved back to Dunsmuir (10 mi S of Mt Shasta) 'til I graduated HS. After my dad died, my mom moved to Medford for the rest of her life--several relatives there. So, small world SuperCRZ. Enjoy the ride AND watch out for deer on 36/44/89, esp dusk & dawn. Beautiful drive thru the forests as you know!

Yes, I will take the 395 route going to Medford, it's the fastest way to get there. Just have to be careful with the deers for sure!!! I'll probably leave around 8am on Friday to be there by 1pm or 2pm and have time to relax before the wedding the next day. Did you have a hard time with taking I-5 coming out of 89? I'm a bit concerned about the uphill on I-5. It seems to steep for me. Oh well, just need to slow down and take it to the lower gears. Glad you made it back! |
