Default Lowering Springs vs. Stereo Weight

Okay, so I'm looking to buy springs to drop my car an inch or so. However, for those of you who were either at the Orlando meet or who have seen my thread, my CR-Z has quite the stereo in the back. I haven't had it weighed, but my estimation would be somewhere around 300-400 extra lbs. where the "backseat" would usually sit. This is pretty well centered in the car, and I can't really notice a difference in the stock suspension regarding height or feel.

With that said, my question is: Would this be something I should consider when looking for aftermarket springs, or would the fact that they're most likely going to be as stiff or stiffer than the stock ones mean that I shouldn't worry about it too much?

Thanks in advance for any opinions and help

I'd say not to worry about it, as the springs will be stiff...and as of now thats like the weight of another heavy set man in the car....the springs are made to withstand weight you put in your car too.

That amount of extra weight always in the car is going to affect how the suspension feels, but if you never remove it you won't know how the suspension is supposed to feel anyway.

That's crazy, your CR-Z is tipping the scales at nearly 3,000 lbs. You could be over the load capacity every time you drive.

Maximum Load Limit - VERY DISTURBING

There's a sticker on the door that states "Do not put more than 400lbs worth of people and cargo in the car." I should probably have my car weighed at some point, but I think I'm only over the load capacity if I have a heavy set passenger in the car. Which is rarely. I myself am very small, and therefore weigh in at under 120 lbs.

Edit: Also it should probably be noted that the "backseat" and the majority of its brackets have been removed, reducing the weight addition by probably 20-30 lbs.

I don't think the stereo system should be a problem with springs, just make sure you don't get cheap sorings, I'd say go with swift or eibach

Are you going to put these on yourself or have someone do it? Just curious, since I'm about a mile away.

e: KamiSpeed, I see your office is down on Sand Lake - do you guys stock any parts there or just ship them? Just wondering!

I've got a friend who's going to help me put them on over a weekend in my hometown, but if that doesn't work out and I need some help I'll let you know. Thanks!

we tend to drop ship though we occasionally stock certain parts, what are you looking for?

Was looking for springs, depending on what you've got. I might be waiting a bit anyway, though.
