I'm having trouble finding info about ceramic disc brakes. I read somewhere that a set for a Porsche Carrera GT is $16,000 (could buy a new car for that). Does anyone know if there is anything cheaper that would work for the CRZ? Also, how effective would ceramic brake pads be in comparison to (a) ceramic disc brakes, (b) regular brake pads? And I am interested in weight savings of ceramic disc brakes. I read somewhere that it could reduce unsprung weight be "as much as 40kg", but information is very hard to find on this.

Cars like that choose ceramic brakes not so much for the weight saving, but for the heat resistance. On a CRZ i wouldn't even consider something like that, infact i bet they don't even make ceramic brake disks in a size that would fit under your alloys.

Stick with slotted and grooved discs if you need to. Otherwise stick with the OEM stuff, it will do the job just fine, Honda chose it for a reason!

ceramic brake pads will always be an improvement over stock if it doesnt have them stock.
