I think I may be the only member with GC coils installed. The set was actually the prototypes they gave me for free. I have the rears set to the lowest, the front has approx another 3/4 inch lower I could go. As the car sits, it tucks the top of the front stock tires and the rears have no gap at all. Handling is still pretty decent considering its stock shocks with the stock tires. Ride does get bouncy or floaty over some surfaces, generally feels fairly good. I attribute most of the poor handling on the tires and overloaded shocks. I want a good coilover set up, but I also want the same or greater ride height adjustability. Who said they range from .5 to 3" drop? I would estimate mine to be a max of 2 1/2" in the rear.

i was only planning to go down to 1.25 or 1.5, front and back. i don't want to ruin the shocks. i assume it should improve handling somewhat. i'm guessing your car feels floaty because you have overloaded your stock shocks.

1-1.5 inches is ideal... you wouldnt want to lower the car to the point that the axles are pointing upwards instead of downwards.
Also as long as the springs have some preload to them... you wouldnt want to have it shake loose when going over bumps. Note... The CRZ with a 1.2" drop you are already sitting on the bump stops and the bump stops should be trimmed or cut in half to allow the shock to travel.
