Default Eibach Pro-kit / Leaking Shock :(

So I've been riding around for about 7,000 miles now with my Eibach ProKit Springs on the factory honda shocks/struts. I put my car up on the lift today to do an oil change and noticed my right rear shock is soaked in oil. I never thought 1" was enough to blow a shock out but i guess it finally happened. So the search is on for a decent set of shocks/struts for this car. I'm working on a budget and would rather stay away from any type of coilover setup. Im happy with the stance of the 1" ProKit drop. My car is daily driven on the forever-****ty Long Island roads. I checked with KYB, Bilstein, and Koni, seems like all 3 havent developed anything for the CRZ as of yet. My plan is to run this as long as i can until one of these companies drops something worth holding up for the CRZ. Any thoughts??

^ Made me go out and look.. I'm still good..

But thanks for posting this.. Good info.. especially for those who have to drive on fracked up roads..

Who was it - ah - Whocares - who was - (too many who's) forcasting these issues - but agree - not sure I would go with coilovers - come with their own set of issues on fracked up roads.

Maybe just replace the right rear with a new factory shock and keep an eye out..

Yea - I don't see anything other than what JCRZ mentioned..

Scotty, if i do that i have a feeling it would only happen again. I guess ill play the wIting game for now. Eibach has a full coilover kit on the way out but im not sure i want to drop that much money on suspension. I really wish Koni made something.

Bilstein makes a set but they are 2k+ and then you have to ship them from Japan.

I also wish Koni made a set..

Mine just went out, too. Same shock, right rear, Swift springs. It happened on Friday. I went over a speed bump and all I heard was a loud pop. I didn't know what it was. I first thought i bottomed out on the way down, checked this morning after I heard some unusual noise, and noticed oil on the shocks. I also checked the brake line just in case. it was fine. Sucks. I'll wait until it starts to rain to replace or until something comes up.

Just called the dealership, it cost $96 for a replacement. I think I'll wait.

Yep - about that time to start seeing results.. Will be interesting to see how those members who were first have issues - or don't - I'm still good on the Eibachs as a DD - but roads are good and am relatively low mileage.. Just hit 10K..
