Here are the measurements as the car stands now, which the installer did as a quick height adjustment (stock wheels) until we install the new wheels. We were going to fine adjustment after the new wheels got installed. *All measurements are from middle top fender to ground Driver front (24") Passenger front (24.2") Driver rear (~23.8") Passenger rear (~23.8") <---Blown Come to find out there is no "real" application for our CRZ according to Buddy Club and we are using the application for a Honda Fit. The tech also said that the rear spring is too short for our car and the strut is also not the right dimension for our car. Didn't really get into detail about the front since that wasn't the issue. Long story short, I don't know the reason for the blown strut as I didn't hit any crazy bumps/pot holes and as far as I could tell all was in perfect condition when I purchased it. I can't raise the rear any higher than what it is now due to the short ass spring. Good news is Buddy Club are indeed going to R&D a specific application for our cars and they are going to one-time replace mine free of charge since I did not know it technically isn't for our CRZ. Bad news is I have to wait 2-3 weeks as they don't have any replacements on-hand. So my question is, will I be okay to ride on this blown coilover for a few weeks? (For some reason it never dawned on me to ask the tech this) Obviously, not doing anything retarded just driving normally. Or will I start to damage other things? Thanks! |

That's crappy. They even advertise the current coilovers as bring for the crz. Sorry to hear. As for the blown shock I wouldn't drive around on it. I don't know of anything specific that would go wrong because I don't have experience with blown struts but the car isn't designed to ride on bad suspension bits.
Good luck getting it sorted out.

I'm thinking it depends on your daily driving road conditions.. Hard to call .. I would be inclined to take it back to stock pending resolution... |

Thanks guys for the responses! What mind boggles me is that Buddy Club US doesn't have anything on hand to replace it immediately. I mean what do people usually do if their strut/shock blows out? Which probably doesn't happen often but does happen. Does vendors sell individual pieces to coilovers i.e. struts, springs, etc. if things go wrong?
Sorry for all the random questions, I'm just new to the whole coilover world and never experienced this. |

Curious, how long did you have them before they blew out?? These were brand new and they blew out in just a few weeks? |
