I can if need be...
but I think there are sufficient options available here to avoid those... at the rate the yen is right now you can get a decent set of coilovers with custom springs so its not too bad for a daily commute

Based on the spring rates I would go with the Showa Tuning over the Spoon Fixed damper, same price wise as the Showa unit comes with springs, Spoon's are separate. I bet the Showa unit comes with the fronts pre-assembled as well. Showa made these as their own product (in addition to the OEM shocks on everyone's CR-Z), Spoon just asked Showa to build something on the side and paint them yellow so they could sell some too.
I wouldn't look at it as there being enough options to avoid this product, I was looking at these as soon as I got the CR-Z Hyper Rev book, I'm sure others are too. If I wasn't already planning on getting the Eibach coilovers, I would have already been calling around about these. |

I already have springs, and even though I was waiting on Bilstein, it doesn't look like it will happen. These seem like a fine option at $200 per corner. I would hope that Spoon would have Showa make a good damper for them, custom valved and all.
Showa is a MASSIVE company, one of a handful that creates dampers for the industry at large. I bet that when a large aftermarket company that makes parts specifically for Honda requests a custom damper, it's more than just a paint job. My 2 cents.... |

I converted the website to English and it says the spring rates are 28N/mm front and 34N/mm rear. Converted to Kgf/mm, that's only 2.8 and 3.4 respectively. Why so close to oem rates? How are you supposed to improve handling then?

its more than springs, its the replacement shocks... that accounts for the major difference

lmk if possible ... j's racing is coming out with a set also.
Why did eibach didn't came out with a set like this ? I just don't like the clucking and the adjusting (knowing your ride height is not perfect) part of the coilovers. If my car is a 240sx or s2000 sure I put coilovers on them . |

the piston valve has a larger diameter, it also has a rebounding spring within the valve... some pretty awesome stuff
