Default Engine Bracing?

Maybe some of the vendors could chime in but is anything available in the engine torque damper or motor mount department or coming down the pipe?

I think you have to have an engine that has actual torque for a torque damper to be of any use.

I laugh at the S2000 owners with stock motors that want these as well.

I would have to agree.. unless you build a Bisi motor, pretty much a waste of time.

disagree: all motors flex. its not a huge upgrade but it always usually makes a difference.

You have a point! I guess whether is actually worth the money, is up to the buyer!

Define "difference".

difference is hard to quantify. look at any dyno video. all motors move around. the CR-Z is no different. You can see in the CR-Z dyno videos that the motor moves and an ETD would help keep everything tight.

ETD's are super easy to install and generally dont cost much so i dont think that for the money its a bad mod. Def not something first on the list to do though.

yes i agree with northbridge. I would be interested in one of these as well. you would be suprised how much the engine moves in the engine bay. Having a dampener in there greatly reduces that chunk of metal sloshing around. The benefits are reduced/eliminated wheel hop on hard starts, better shift feel, and a tigher feeling car. I believe there are also some cornering benefits to having an engine dampener in.

Hahaaahahhahahaha!!! This seriously makes me laugh. Wheel hop reduction.... cornering benefit... "greatly reduces that chunk of metal sloshing around".... seriously? 128 hp and 123 tq. engine remember?

It won't help 0-60 time, 1/4 mile time, top speed, MPG, slalom speed or time, braking distance, or anything else, but hey, if you think it helps, be my guest. It won't make a bit of performance difference in this car, but go ahead.

Actually it may help your MPG as your wallet will be lighter, but not by as much as the weight of the devise will weigh. It might help your bling factor at your local car show if you dare pop the hood to show the massive beast we have under the hood.

im glad to have made your day. You seem like a previous domestic owner...

And besides dont you think that any bracing is better than no bracing at all? They arent a very expensive mod.

The benefits i described are real benefits from an ETD.
