Default Help Choosing Springs.

Hey Guys,

Yes, I have searched and read what I can find here on the forums.

I am trying to decide between Eibach Pro Kit and Tanabe NF210 springs.

I cant cut my curb with the Home Owners Association that I live in. Currently, If i go up or down my curb strait, I have <1" clearance. However, If i go up at an angle at my lowest point I have about 3", so I am pretty sure I can drop it and now have any issues, as long as as I am careful when I get home and when I leave.

This clearance is on my factory wheels, and I am about to change to 18x7.5 with 215/40 tires. I really dont know how this will effect my current clearance, even before the drop. I know someone listed a tool that helps with knowing this, but I cant seem to find it. I dont think that it will really change much, but I am unsure.

That being said, I am reading great reviews on both the Eibach and Tanabe options. This car is driven over 100 miles every day, and I want it to look great, but still be comfortable as my daily driver.

Any thoughts/opinions?

By changing to 215/40-18 you will gain a little bit in clearance (~4mm) before the drop.

Someday the US will finally figure out we should use the metric system.

I am on my phone, but the math in my head says thats about 1/8th of an inch.

I think I can take the 1.3 inch drop from the Tanabe over the 1 inch drop from the Eibach without a problem. I just want to know which one has better ride comfort.

I cannot speak for the Tanabe springs which Im sure are a great product. I do have the Eibachs currently though and can guarantee they offer a perfect ride comfort vs. handling compromise. I actually thought they felt more comfortable than stock (oem springs were too wobbly feeling). I also used to have a full curb into my driveway and cleared it with no problem with the pro-kit. Would only scrape a splash guard occasionally if I hit it at the wrong angle.

Overall a the springs are top notch, you wont be disappointed.
