Default Suspension mods for roads that are NOT smooth

So I live in North Texas, outside of the cities, and there are times when the roads are horrendous. Not such a big problem for the truckers out here, but I would imagine that any changes I would want made to my car are not going to be same for all you city slickers.

First, obviously, I do NOT want to lower my car. Is attempting to tighten my spring compression even advisable? Are there any coilovers that do not lower the car? Am I even making any sense or am I making stuff up? I am a complete noob at this sort of thing.

Second: has anyone bought a pillar bar for the rear? It seems that trying to prevent damage to structural integrity would be nice, but the visibility is fairly poor to begin with straight back. Would installing this make it worse?

There are definitely some interesting roads to drive out here, but in no way am I planning on making this a track car. I would just like to have a bit tighter control. Any general recommendations are appreciated.

Thanks for all your help, and it is interesting reading all the topics here.

Here's my advise! Grab some Tein h techs it's a drop but very subtle, not even an inch. Next grab a rear sway bar from bisimoto. That should be enough to hive u a better all around ride, everything after that is just not needed unless ur looking to track the car and based on your post I doubt so.

Correct me if I am wrong, but don't I need a shock/strut change if I am going to change my springs?
