This thread was created to track all the coilover options on the market for the CRZ. It is a work in progress and I hope someone finds it helpful. I wanted a quick way to compare specs, approximate prices and to collect reviews from owners. This thread was intended to be a good starting point for research not an Encyclopedia. If you guys think this is useful I'll continue to update this thread when new items are released.

If any of you own any of these coilovers, please post impressions and I will add them to the first post. Also if anyone notices a typo or other misinformation please let me know. All preliminary information gathered from pages of different vendors here or from manufacturer videos etc.

Interesting things:

1 - Most coilovers here have stiffer front rates compared to the rear but a few are stiffer out back. Im not sure why that is.

2 - Even some of the pricey coilovers require you to re-use stock top mounts.

3- Most common spring rate is about 6kg/m in the front and 4-5 kg/m in the rear. This may be a good starting point for comparison between brands.

4-Price of OEM Top Mounts: (just in case you dont want to use a spring compressor to get top mounts off or want to leave your stock suspension completely assembled. There is no problem re-using stock parts at all so this is not a necessary cost)

FRONT:
Front shock bearing (collar) is *$16.43 and shock mount *$17.46 each (2 needed).
Total $67 Total Approx +shipping

7. For the Cusco suspension and possibly other coilovers, remove the collar from the top of the stock shock and re-use it on the Cusco Coilovers

REAR

Spring mount are $7.67 each, rear shock absorber washer $3.20 each, and the shock absorber mounting $3.72 each

13. Trim the tabs off of the top OEM rubber mount to install them into the cusco adjustable spring perch.


16. Make sure the stock rubber bushings are not still stuck on the body and re-install the new shock. The body of the car should be sandwiched by the 2 rubber bushings.


Correct order of components with the body of the car in between the 2 rubber bushings.





Vendors: Is this all we need to not have to re-use stock suspension components? I would just like to verify

I didnt want to put links up because they would go directly to a vendor and i didnt want to promote any specific one. Does that make sense? I can still do it but i thought it would be best not to.
