Default Steering Wheel not pointing straight.

I don't see any issues with alignment and this is my first 100-some miles, but I noticed this on the test drive and the dealer gave me an excuse about the electric steering and told me to wait a few hundred miles to see if it fixes itself...

So, the car tracks perfectly straight down the road and doesn't pull one way or another, but the wheel is slightly off center (pointing left a little). Not a big deal but definitely annoying. Anybody else have this issue? Is there a way to calibrate the steering or is it possible the wheel was just put on at an angle and I need to take it to the dealer?

Thanks,

M

if the car drives straight then i can't see why there would be an issue with the alignment... it could just be the way you're looking at it... the fender might curve in and make it appear to be off center... got any of this??

check tire pressures?... although if tire pressure was off on one side it wouldn't track straight. there should be a way to even out the steering wheel though, seems like something the dealer should be able to fix. Did you get the alignment printout to verify theres nothing wrong there too?

My steering wheel is definitely on correct and centered when driving straight. Should be something the dealer can fix, im not sure why they told you to just wait...

EDIT: after bizzy's comment and re-reading your post are you referring to the steering wheel or one of the actual wheels?

yeah, the waiting is total BS... that was just a line to get rid of you lol...

sometimes when cars come in they need alignments and even suspension parts replaced b/c the truck tightened the car down too much and bent something... i'd take it in and make sure everything is lined up right...

Meant the steering wheel .

Car's driving fine and I don't really have much time to take it to the dealer in the next couple days so we'll see. I think it'll be good to wait so when I take it in I can ask them about the 20 other little things I find wrong in that time .

it's the alignment... or rather how the adjusters are not centered equally in relation to the steering rack and the steering wheel. in short, have an alignment redone by someone who knows how to center the wheel while doing an alignment instead of just looking at numbers on the alignment screen.

How far to the left? If it is just a little, are you sure it isn't the curvature (crown) of the road?
