Rear bumper problems - Honda CRZ Forum: Honda CR-Z Hybrid Car Forums

So I got rear ended a few weeks ago and the rear diffuser popped off. I snapped it back into place so it wouldn't be hanging while I was driving. Anyway, this happened while I was on my way to work and it was literally a 3mph accident. I was sitting still and he slid on ice into me. No biggie. So we traded info and agreed that he would just pay me for the price of the rear diffuser. The OEM part is about 150 bucks, so he got me 200 and we called it a day. Well I took the 200 and put it towards an Seibon CF diffuser, which I got yesterday. I went to take off the diffuser, removed the 4 smaller retaining clips, and it just kinda fell off, without having to remove the 2 larger clips holding it to the bumper. Bad news because the bumper is actually broken in those two locations, the two tabs that the diffuser kinda fits into and then snaps on with those clips broke off when I got hit. Bad news because its too late to go back and say ooh you owe me a bumper as well.

Anyway, I guess the point of this entire post is this. The CF diffuser is having some difficulties going on, since the only two spots it has to clip on are the 2 larger spots which are broken off. I'm gonna drill some small holes into the CF diffuser tonight and try to clip to the other 4 locations and see if it will go on that way. Any other thoughts on this would be a great help. Any answers to the following questions would be helpful as well.

1. About how much would it cost to have a new bumper installed on my car?
2. Would anyone be willing to trade me an OEM diffuser for the CF one I have, I'd prob ask for a little cash on top but not much.

Have you tried Ebay? All so check with some of these custom shops here on this forum. The reason being is people putting on body kits. They might have one you can pick up on the cheap.

Good thinking, I hadn't even thought of body kits. I did try ebay, nothing around yet. My car is silver, so I figure it should be an easy color to find.

Haha, no problem man, I was able to get it on with the other 4 clip locations, I'll need to get a new bumper in the future but it is on and sturdy.

I got mine from kamispeed though. Being from california you would prob get one quick since it ships from there.
