Default Passenger side air bag off?

So I left my passenger side window cracked because I was trying to air out the fast food I just had in there. Since it's been mid 70's here where I live I wasn't expecting rain. Of course it decided to rain a little and I remembered my window and ran out. It wasn't pouring and it seemed like only splashes got in. The window button worked and rolled the window up. Later when I got in the car and started it, I got a notification saying the passenger side air bag is off and it won't go away. Is this the air big that's in the passenger seat? Do you think it will go away or am I screwed?

P.S. I know I'm stupid for leaving the window cracked. :-P

Honestly, I would get that checked. I wouldn't ignore a warning light and hope that it just went away. Who knows, it might create a possible malfunction of a safety feature.

Is there any weight on the passenger seat, such as tools, jackets, boxes, etc.?

If the car senses any weight on the seat and it is under 65 pounds, you should get the light.

I'm not one to condone ignoring safety devices and such, but, when I left my window open before Christmas Eve, and it rained, I got the same thing. I left the windows open in the garage then to let the car dry out and, once the seat was dry, the light when out.

Maybe since the seat is a little wet it senses the water weight! Which would make sense in the next comment since his light turned off when it dried. Thanks I feel a lot better now. I will update on whether or not it turns off when dried too.

This actually happened to me too. The dip****s at the car wash left my passenger window open and when I got in afterward the passenger side airbag light came on due to the side of the seat being drenched. Needless to say, I took it straight to the dealer. They looked it over and said it would be fine once it dried. They were correct. It's fine now.
