The CR-Z is a great commuter car, but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone as their only car. If you are expecting to have a child in the near future and would like to take the child along with the child's mother for a ride, this is not the car for you.

The Fit is a nice alternative. My wife and I have one in addition to our CR-Z. The handling is very similar but I'll be the first to admit its not nearly as fun.
Another option coming out this spring is the Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S. They will have the 2+2 seating so you'll have those tiny back seats that aren't good for much more then car seats or emergencies. I'm planing on trading in my CR-Z for the Subaru when it goes on sale. Last edited by Neutron256; 01-17-2012 at 08:26 AM. Reason: Auto correct is flaky |

I would agree its not a good family car. We bought it for me as a commuter and I love everything about it. Those wells in the back make great carrying compartments and with the back folded down there's lots of trunk space. I'd look elsewhere for a growing family car. The Fit or Accord or CRV?

this wouldn't be the only car in the family, and not even the primary transport. but i'd need ability to at least fit a child seat in, in case of emergency
im really surprised honda didn't think it necessary to at least have mounting capability for a car seat..i mean, its a more aggressive looking car (for honda) so you'd think the target age is 25-40, which is the age most people have kids |
