Default CRZ cold start

Wondering if anyone in the colder climate areas that are driving their CRZ experience the same. 2 weeks ago or so we had a pretty cold weekend and I parked the crz for a day and drove my new Element with my dogs. Next day it did not want to start. 2 turn of the keys nothing, Tried third time and the engine starter kicked in to the start the car. Ima battery was pretty much full charged. Today again it happened since the last 2 weeks have been mild temp. I drove my Element yesterday did not touch my CRZ this morning go to leave and no start 2 turn on the key. Nothing then the third time engine starter kicked in. today is aprox -12c &-16c with the wind chill. Don't know if this is a problem with my Z or anyone else experiencing the same.

Sounds like a weak or near dead 12 Volt.

Anything is possible but I can't see that being the issue. The car is 6 months old and theres full lights all over dash and heater fan, radio, window everything just no start till engine starter kicks in... usually after turning the key on 3rd attempt. Mine is manual and I do have the clutch pedal right to the floor.

Could be a loose connection at the battery. Check to make sure your battery terminals are tight.

I hope this isn't an issue since my CR-Z just got booted out of the garage after we added another car. Guess I'll find out Tuesday morning.

On the Civic Hybrid if the temperature was low enough the mechanical starter would bring the car to life rather than electric starter. It was a bit slower and noisier. I imagine the CR-Z will have the same safety backup for cold weather.

Sounds like that is my guess. I noticed everything on the dash was slow to react like the litres per 100 gauge on the canadian models.. kind like when you leave a cell phone in the cold for a bit and then use it. Well if thats the case I guess I found my first dislike with the car

When the engine starts, is it a normal start? As in the engine fires up after about a quarter of a revolution? Or does it take two or three revs before it fires? On my old 2000 MT Insight, a normal start is the same as the CRZ. When the Insight Inverter started to go south, it would take two or three revs before it would fire..

If it's a normal start, then I recommend the dealer take a look; at six months age, it would be covered under warranty. What you describe is not normal. Last winter the CRZ was snowed in for trhree weeks in freezing weather before (with my handicap) I could get to it to get it moving again. Fired up normally like 70 F rather than 35 F.

Haviruzz..It would take 2 to three revs before firing. After it started this morning for the rest of the day the IMA started it up and same as the last time. I have only seen that after sitting for 1 day untouched at cold temp when I went to drive it, I turn the key to get nothing. all lights are on the dashbright with no dimming, my fan is blowing(cause i leave it on when I shut car off) try turning the key again, same thing no crank no sound of any starting...but again all my lights are on and bright no dimming 3rd turn of the key and bang the crank crank fire of the engine.

So far, so good for me. It sat a week in the cold and started right up.
