Default what gives ??? paddle shift dont work

noticed this today, when I flip on the paddles for shifting as soon as I let off the gas, or hit 4k in the rpm range the car goes back to automatic...... anyone ever hear of this or experienced it ?? i checked for the force econ mode and thats not whats causing this. worked well last week.

I think the CVT auto "shifts" if you over rev the motor... but that might be a different issue then whats happening here.

You have to be in Sport mode for it to stay in shift mode. Normal and Eco return to auto mode after a few seconds. Sport mode will hold the grear ratio till red line.

The paddles don't really work anywhere near like they do in Sport on normal mode.

In normal, if you dont give the peddle a slight rest it will go up till the rev limiter slightly. So using the paddle shift to assist it will not harm anything... A video will best describe what exactly is your issue.

I often find the paddle shifters annoying and confusing, they sort of put you in control but the computer seems to still be deciding you're doing the worng thing in may instances and taking over. I feel like honda missed the mark on this. What I'd really like is insted of "Simulated gears" is to have it so that using the paddles simply allowed you to put force the CVT into a different RPM. This way you simply shift to get to the RPM you want and it hold it there.
