Default Towing the CR-Z

Is it safe for me to tow my CVT model in neutral on a tow dolly (front wheel up)?

In the manual it stated do not tow behind a motorhome, but I believe its referring to towing it with all 4 on the ground and not with a dolly.

Later in the manual under emergency towing it stated you could tow with front wheels up, but I did not know if this was just for emergencies or extended use.

Thoughts?

no idea but after my accident it was towed front wheels up no problem. just gotta be careful cus then your muffler is closer to the road and could be damaged by debree or speed bumps.

You want to have the drive wheels off the ground.

Doesn't seem like a problem- given there is no sort of drivetrain or anything connected to the rear wheels; they are just there to roll and brake.

Muffler is SUPER easy to take off. Just jack up the passenger side of the car (and jack stand for safety of course), get under the car, and it's two bolts (forget what size).

Do it when the exhaust is cold and the car is off (of course). And when you remove the muffler there should be an almost conical shaped metal Cheerio looking bushing that you need to make sure you do not leave on the exhaust piping; remove it with the muffler (pulls right off).

^That I would only bother with if what Ludercrz stated becomes a problem; which sounds like a reasonable concern.

I am curious if/how you can hook up the brake lights.

yes you can. I towed mine from Tennessee to California and back with no problem. Just remember to air up the dack tire with a few extra lbs of air or the tires will wear funky.
