Default Bye-Bye Fog Light: Plumbing Supply Truck Dumping on the Freeway

The back door of a plumbing supply truck was open on the freeway. Something flew out and my driver's side fog light took a direct hit. Lens 'glass' shattered; black frame gnarled; black frame slightly detached from bumper; bumper scarred. Could have been worse, way worse.

What's it take to get at the fog light?

if it was just bulb replacement then you wouldn't need to remove bumper really... but since you wanna change the lens or housing then ya it has to come off.

Sorry to hear! Did you get to stop the truck and get their insurance info?

No, I didn't see it fall out. Only a bit latter did I see the truck with the door open and the stuff in the back. At the time I only thought about my insurance and my too large deductible. Should have thought about his insurance.

I priced a replacement OEM light at $150. The other stuff, nicks, etc I can live with. Officially, car is no longer new.
